Fitness watches are now highly sophisticated, taking advantage of the technologies that have been created for other fitness trackers and adding even more to it such as tracking runs and routes, locating hiking paths via interactive maps and more.

Garmin takes advantage of this in their Fenix 8 Pro watch with the ability to connect to cellular technologies as well as satellite communication. Additionally, the watch is rugged built to withstand elements with leakproof metal buttons, dimmable LED flashlight and scratch-resistant display.

What powers the Fenix 8 Pro is the dual-core ARM Cortex-M44 MCU from NXP Semiconductors with 43 GB of 3D TLC NAND flash memory from ATP Electronics.

The following is a partial deep dive into the smartwatch from TechInsights.
