Electric vehicle (EV) charging vendor XCharge North America plans to build what it claims is the largest non-Tesla fast-charging EV hub in the Dallas, Texas, region.
XCharge said the hub will feature about 3 megawatt-hours of storage capacity for grid support. Also, the hub will contain more than 20 stalls with ultra-fast chargers, with max outputs ranging from 200 kW to 400 kW per port for EV drivers.
The hub will be built in the Watters Creek Village mixed-use development in Allen, Texas, just outside of Dallas. The center is a shopping and entertainment area with various retail options, outdoor dining, office space and residential lofts.
The design of the village is to provide sustainable and community-focused initiatives beyond powering EVs, and the storage grid capacity will provide electricity in the event of grid disruptions.
This will be the second XCharge deployment in Allen following the installation of charging infrastructure at the MD7 headquarters last year.
