TDK Corp. has unveiled two new microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors for the industrial and consumer space.

The first MEMS, dubbed InvenSense Smart Industrial IIM-42653, is a 6-axis/3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer-IMU that can achieve a gyro-programmable digital output of ±4000 dps and an accelerometer-programmable output of ±32g with low gryo noise.

The main applications for the MEMS are drones, navigation modules and automated guided vehicle and autonomous mobile robot systems.

Other features of the MEMS include:

  • Extended temperature range
  • Precise measurements
  • Highly accurate external clock input
  • Development and evaluation platform.

The second MEMS sensor, dubbed the SmartMotion ICM-42370-P, is an accelerometer that offers a low noise performance and up to ±16g of measurement range. The sensor is used for industrial application, security cameras, dash cameras and consumer and medical wearables.

This sensor offers:

  • Noise performance of 100μg/√Hz
  • 16-bit ADC for and up to 2.25kB FIFO
  • On-chip motion functions
  • Supports 12.5 MHz I3CSM, 1 MHz I2C, 24 MHz SPI
  • Drop-in to 6-axis footprint
