The smartphone market may be struggling this year due to ongoing geopolitical issues, inflation and the global economic downturn. However, most are forecasting that a return to growth will occur at the end of the year or in early 2024.

Xiaomi has been placing itself in a position to capture a portion of the market that may not be served by the likes of the leaders in Apple, Samsung and other giant smartphone OEMs. Xiaomi is targeting the middle range smartphone market with smartphones that have a good number of features but are not a staggering price point that will break the bank.

Its 12T model was released last year for the global market for both the 4G and 5G market.

The smartphone includes the 8100 Dimensity chipset from MediaTek as well as massive 108-megapixel CMOS wide-angle camera. There is 8 GB mobile DRAM from Samsung and many other electronic components.

The following is a partial deep dive into the 12T smartphone from TechInsights.
