Cadence unveils custom design platform for analog design

21 April 2023

Cadence Design Systems Inc. has introduced a new electronic design automation (EDA) platform for custom analog design that allows more than three times improvement in design throughput.

Called Virtuoso Studio, the EDA platform allows engineers to analyze and verify designs to ensure the design is maintained throughout the design cycle. Virtuoso Studio works with other Cadence offerings such as Cadence Spectre Simulation, Cadence Allegro PCB design and Cadence Pegasus verification system.

The Virtuoso Studio provides millimeter wave (mmWave) design and interactive signoff quality analysis during layout creation. Additionally, the EDA tools allows for the analysis of analog and mixed-signal designs.

Other features include:

  • Leverages comprehensive planar and FinFET-based layout placement automation
  • New routing solutions for improved engineering productivity
  • Cloud ready for third party providers or private cloud deployment
  • Generative AI for design migration
  • 3D-IC integration
