Video: Platform translates 109 languages for hospitality industry

05 January 2022

Kotozna Inc., a Japan-based software startup, debuted its latest digital concierge platform at CES 2022 that deciphers 109 different languages for hotels and travel markets.

Called the Kotozna In-room, the system allows guests and hotel staff to communicate in real-time in their native tongues but have the messages translated to whatever language the person speaks. The technology is intended for tourism organizations such as operators of regional visitor information centers, hotels, inns or other travel hot spots.

The system works by scanning a QR code that launches on the web on any smartphone, tablet or PC. There, guests can chat in real time to others through the digital platform.

Other than making translating easy for the hospitality industry, the technology also can provide coupons, tourist information and other services to ease the burden of concierge workers in hotels or travel areas.

The system can handle a menu of up to 60 items on 10 themes and enhances non-contact communication in these heavily trafficked areas.
