Renault Design has created a new concept mini van that brings the comforts and amenities of a hotel to the outdoors.
Called the Hippie Caviar Hotel, the minivan includes a bench seat that can be converted into a bed and positioned outside or inside the vehicle. In contemplation mode, the open tailgate and its draperies provide privacy and protection from the weather. In the cozy mode, the bench seat and the corner armchair create a lounge area.
Meanwhile, the rooftop terrace, featuring a coffee table and two removable backrests, offers another view of the surroundings. The rooftop can be access from an extractable ladder.
Renault created the concept van as a way for consumers to get out of the house while having the accommodations of a hotel without COVID-19 restrictions.
Other features of the Hippie Caviar Hotel include delivery of a logistic container to the camping location, which includes a shower, lavatory, electric charging point and more. Other services can be ordered online with delivery by drone on the roof or on a bench in the contemplation mode.
There are also additional services such as the provision of bicycles.
The van will be introduced at the upcoming Düsseldorf Motor Show, starting Aug. 27.
