Watch: SuperSonic MACH 40 cart-based ultrasound system from Hologic

13 July 2020

A new cart-based ultrasound system from medical technology company Hologic produces high fidelity images and features capabilities that improve clinical efficiency and diagnostic accuracy.

Source: HologicSource: HologicThe SuperSonic™ MACH 40 system incorporates UltraFast™ imaging technology inspired by advanced graphics innovations from the video gaming industry. Frame rates of up to 20,000 images per second are delivered as are innovative imaging modes. The inclusion of B-mode imaging technology enhances diagnostic confidence by production of smoother images with reduced speckle, clearer images across all tissue densities and improved lesion conspicuity.

The system also includes ShearWave™ PLUS, a new generation of shear wave-based elastography developed to provides additional diagnostic information that may help with patient management, including diagnostic workup of breast lesions, lesion targeting during ultrasound-guided biopsy and lesion size measurement. Three imaging modes combine in TriVu™ imaging, where morphology, stiffness and blood flow can all be analyzed simultaneously in the same image. A biopsy mode tracks needle location and predicts its trajectory to help make sure every lesion is sampled.
