At CES 2020, automotive component startup Bmmpr will debut its smart security device for vehicles that protects cars by sending real-time notifications to drivers' phones when their cars are disturbed.
The technology, which received a 2020 CES Innovation Honoree Award, detects impacts and engine-starts and can identify break-ins, assist with towing situations and offers GPS tracking capabilities.
The company is also developing a camera accessory that will debut at CES, which captures images from smart security devices for enhanced security options for the automotive industry.
After successfully shipping the first round of orders in late September 2019, Bmmpr now plans to expand capabilities by developing a camera, giving users the ability to receive a photo when an impact or break-in occurs. The company hopes to make the camera accessory available by the end of next year.
Recently, Bmmpr moved its headquarters to a larger office in the East Village of San Diego to meet increased demand. The company plans to move to an even larger space later this year to continue growth in operations.
CES 2020 takes place Jan. 7-10 in Las Vegas.
