19 December 2019

Atmosic Technologies has raised $28.5 million to deploy the company’s M2 and M3 series Bluetooth 5 system-on-chip (SoC) solutions.

The funding will also help the company scale its business for low-power consumption wireless technologies for the internet of things (IoT). The company aims for commercial release of products in early 2020.

The company focused on battery-free IoT through its energy harvesting and Bluetooth technologies including power sources such as RF, photovoltaic, thermal and mechanical. The M2 and M3 Bluetooth chips extend battery life and battery-free operation for IoT devices in applications such as asset tracking, smart homes, wearables, building automation and medical devices.

The funding was led by Sutter Hill Ventures along with investments from Clear Ventures, Walden International, Dolby Family Ventures and Arden Road Investments.

Atmosic is showcasing its new Bluetooth chips at the upcoming CES 2020 that takes place Jan. 7-10 in Las Vegas.
