The LoRa Alliance has expanded its membership to include a number of new companies that span the internet of things (IoT) ecosystem.
The alliance backs the open interface standard long-range wide-are network (LoraWAN), an IoT low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) standard for connecting devices and gadgets to each other.
New membership includes:
- Amazon
- Netze BW GmbH of Germany
- Arduino
- Dish Network
- Intel Corp.
- Interlink Electronics
- Paige Wireless LLC
- Tata Communications
- Thingstream AG
- Unitymedia NRW GmbH
For Arduino, joining the Lora Alliance will allow it to further develop the IoT sector and contribute to widespread adoption of LoRaWAN on a global scale.
For Interlink, the LoRa Alliance will help to expand manufacturing and integration of scalable printed electronic sensor technologies for a wide spectrum of products.
Netze is working with LoRaWAN to make inroads in the introduction of IoT for smart utility use cases and provide capacities for smart city applications.
