Phonum, a wireless Bluetooth and USB speakerphone, is making its debut at CES 2019.
Launched by Beyerdynamic, a manufacturer of headphones, microphones and conferencing products, Phonum combines three microphone capsules designed to produce high-quality sound with proprietary technology to capture spoken words and eliminate background noise and echo. The device is designed for mobile conferences over the internet, and its 360° sound range can enhance large conferences including video and teleconferencing for up to eight people.
Intuitive touch sensors are provided to allow users to accept or end calls, increase or decrease volume, select polar patterns and mute or activate the microphone. Phonum can operate via Bluetooth with a PC, laptop or smartphone. A USB port is also provided for applications with poor radio communication. Three microphone modes are offered: omnidirectional, cardioid and beamforming. The latter automatically adjusts the microphone in the direction of the person speaking.
The device’s lithium battery, which can be charged via USB, lasts up to 12 hours. A USB-C cable is included for quick charging, as well as a hard case for mobile durability.
CES 2019 attendees can find the company’s booth at South Hall 1 — 20654.
