Source: TransphormTransphorm Inc. has introduced a complete 3.3 kW continuous conduction mode (CCM) bridgeless totem-pole power factor correction (PFC) reference design for high voltage gallium nitride (GaN) power systems.

Unveiled at the 2018 Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC), the reference design is used to develop AC to DC applications such as high-end front-end PFCs for merchant power supplies (such as servers, gaming or crypto mining), on-board chargers for plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric vehicles (BEV) and industrial power supplies.

The TDTTP3300-RD reference design uses Transphorm’s third generation 650 V GaN FET technology that helps to deliver 99 percent efficiency. The board is targeted at engineers that want to develop products quickly without the need for deep GaN design or digital signal processor (DSP) firmware coding expertise.

The resources included in the TDTTP3300-RD are test reports, hardware design guide, firmware design guide, design schematics and Gerber files and the bill of materials.

APEC 2018 is taking place this week in San Antonio, Texas.
