SolarDrone, a startup from National Taiwan University, teamed up with experts in photovoltaic and unmanned aerial vehicle technologies to tackle the problem of limited drone flight time. The product will be showcased at CES 2018 Eureka Startup Marketplace (booth #52105) during January 9-12, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nev.

The lightweight quadcopter promises an increase in flight time from less than 30 minutes to hours.

Other key features of the solar-powered drone include:

• Excellent safety — No gasoline/battery, no explosion

• Foldable frame and solar module — Easy for transportation and convenience

• Gimbal stabilized — 4K/HD videos, 16M photos

• Vertical take-off and landing — No need for runways
