ThirdEye Gen, Inc. has announced the development of a fully integrated augmented reality (AR) solution with the “X1” Smartglass and AR software applications. The product is being aimed at the education, industrials/manufacturing, field-service site inspection/maintenance and law enforcement industries.
The X1 Smartglass has the latest sensors, chips and a powerful optics design that allows users to experience 1,280 x 720 p binocular display. This display is the equivalent of a 90” screen at 10 feet. The glasses have a sleek design that allows the user to easily wear them while doing other activities.
ThirdEye Gen has successfully created AR software that is focused on providing the user with live audio, video, point of view AR data between remote users. The smartglass app is hands-free; the user controls the app via head-motion. This is based on ThirdEye’s proprietary software and provides an AR interface that allows on-site personnel to collaborate with remotely located experts.
The three-screen interface allows the remote user to have a clear field of view while rotating between AR screens via head-motion. The glasses have a cloud-based architecture that enables the entire session they were in use to be archived for later reference. The app will contribute to improved first-time repair rates to more cost-effective operations.
The modular software enables universities to stream a remote professor’s live point of view with annotations. ThirdEye is currently developing custom education AR content, including 3D AR renderings of the course curriculum, interactive campus tours and other AR software applications.
