Image credit: Keystone Electronics Corp.A new, miniature surface mount test point from Keystone Electronics Corp. (Astoria, N.Y.) features a symmetrical flat-wire design to efficiently and safely test printed circuit boards (PCBs). This mini-pad version enables high-strength test point-to-PCB bonding with a minimal footprint.
The low-profile device accepts a variety of gripping probes to replace wire-wrap posts and turret terminals, and is suitable for testing circuitry of high density PCB packages.
The miniature surface mount test point is manufactured from silver plate and phosphor bronze, which can accommodate the use of both lead-free solder and traditional reflow processing. Packaging is on conductive polycarbonate tape and reel for Catalog No. 5019 on 1,000 piece reels; Catalog No. 5029 on 5,000 piece reels. All are compatible with most vacuum and pick and place assembly systems.
