E Ink Holdings has rolled out a 32-inch flexible, lightweight display for use as a drop-in replacement for digital signage in transportation and other public information systems.
The display can be conformed into either one simple curve or multiple curves, which E Ink says will fit well into transportation systems such as buses or trains where overhead display surfaces are not flat and require a curved display system.
The flexible display can be shaped into one large curve or multiple curves, making it a good fit in trains and buses where flat displays don’t fit well. Source: E Ink Dubbed the Mobius, the display weighs less than six ounces, has a resolution of 2650 by 1440, and features a paper-like readability and low power consumption. E Ink says it can also be powered by solar cells or rechargeable batteries.
E Ink believes these displays can be a replacement for existing paper or plastic signage systems that are currently in use in transportation systems, while providing a greater level of information and customer service to passengers without having to make major infrastructural changes.
