C&K Components’ new KXT2 Series double-action, top-actuated switches feature an ultra-miniature 3.7 mm x 3.0 mm x 1.05 mm footprint, an integrated actuator with a large, 1.2 mm-diameter surface area, and extended 100,000-cyle lifespans. The switches are suited for use in next-generation, ultra-compact electronics, including wearable electronics, mobile phones, hearing aids, portable electronics, action and surveillance cameras and personal healthcare monitoring systems.

The switches offer two actuation forces, each with their own distinctive and stabile tactile feeling, which helps users differentiate between the first and second actions. Push-force one features a 100+/-40 gf operating force and 0.1 mm+/-0.05 mm travel, while push-force two features a 200+/-50 gf operating force and 0.2 mm +0.1/-0.05 mm travel.
The switches feature a dual-action single-pull, double-throw, normally open (SPDT NO) contact arrangement and G-type SMT terminations designed to take up minimal board space. Maximum voltage for the KXT2 Series momentary action switches is 12 VDC, and maximum current is 50 mA. Other specifications include an insulation resistance of 500 VDC at 100 MΩ, contact resistance of <500 mΩ, and bounce time of less than 10 ms. Operating temperature range spans -40 °C to 85 °C.
Available with standard lead-times, the KXT2 Series switches are packaged in reels of 6,000 pieces.
