01 March 2016

Chinese pure-play foundry Hua Hong Semiconductor Limited is teaming with Chinese intellectual property (IP) firm MindMotion Microelectronics Co. Ltd. for smart hardware cores for the Internet of Things (IoT). The partnership is designed to help IoT customers simplify design procedures and accelerate time-to-market in next-generation wireless digital Internet-connected devices.

Under the deal, the companies will develop the smart hardware IP together and commit to the promotion and application of the IoT IP platform. The IP will work across multiple different process technology nodes and the two companies will also deliver a complete solution of multiple analog IP and MCU over customers’ applications, Hua Hong says.

Hua Hong says the partnership will help the development of domestic IoT chip industry and generate new opportunities inside the country pertaining to the blossoming IoT market.
