Tempo Semiconductor Inc. (Austin, Texas), a maker of audio chips, has signed a distribution agreement with Taiwan-based EDOM Technology to foster a sales channel in Asia.
Under the agreement, EDOM will distribute Tempo’s audio solutions, system-on-chip (SoC), audio hubs and audio amplifier products in the Asian market. These devices are worked into mobile phones, tablets, PC/NB and other consumer and industrial electronic products.
Tempo said it needs the additional manpower to gets its products into Asia because of its plans to introduce new audio chips for mobile phones and tablets in 2015, the company said.
K. Gozie Ifesinachukwu, chairman and CEO of Tempo, said in a statement that with EDOM’s support in Taiwan, China and southeast Asia, Tempo “will be able to aggressively expand our distribution channels” as well as more efficiently and broadly bring its chip portfolio to customers in Asia “where we see great opportunity.”
