Metal fabrication co-bot solutions provider Hirebotics has introduced an explosion-proof collaborative robot (cobot) painting solution built on its no-code Beacon platform and the Fanuc CRX-10iA/L Paint hardware.
The company's Cobot Painter is designed for metal fabricators and manufacturers seeking a flexible, high-mix, low-volume alternative to manual spray painting and traditional automated finishing systems. Unlike conventional paint automation, which often requires dedicated paint cells and costly exhaust or conveyor infrastructure, the portable, lightweight system operates within existing manual spray booths, allowing deployment in a matter of days.

The solution enables manufacturers to bring coating operations in-house, reducing reliance on outsourcing while improving control over production schedules, quality and costs. It supports both liquid paint and powder coating applications, delivering consistent, repeatable finishes without the expense and complexity of traditional automated paint lines.
Built around the explosion-proof Fanuc CRX-10iA/L Paint cobot, the system is approved for liquid painting, powder coating and gel coating in hazardous environments. The robot features a 55.82-inch reach, enabling it to coat large and complex parts with consistent speed, distance and angle while reducing paint waste and overspray.
Like Hirebotics' welding and cutting systems, the Cobot Painter is designed for operators with little or no robotics experience. Through the Beacon interface, accessible from a tablet or smartphone, users guide the robot once using a click-and-teach process. The cobot then repeats the programmed path with consistent precision during every production cycle.
The current version supports stationary painting, with parts positioned inside a paint booth while the robot performs all spraying operations. Future versions are expected to add line-tracking capability, enabling the robot to paint parts continuously as they move along a production line.
