A stationary robotics platform capable of folding laundry in 30 to 90 minutes has been developed by San Francisco-based startup Weave Robotics.
The robot, dubbed Issac 0, is an autonomous laundry folding robot that can be easily integrated into the home. Isaac 0 runs on a 600 W power system, using a standard 120 V outlet with a footprint of 18 inches by 19 inches and an adjustable height ranging from 2 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches.

Further, Isaac 0 features a multi-axis structure with 4 degrees of freedom in the neck, dual arms with 6 degrees each, one-axis hands (2 × 1) and a single-axis torso, which enable it to manipulate garments with precision while maintaining stability in a home environment.
So far, Isaac 0 can fold T-shirts, hoodies, pants, towels and undergarments. Yet the robot still cannot handle large blankets or turn garments right-side out. If Isaac 0 encounters a difficult garment or an error that it cannot resolve on its own, a human operator can intervene to make a 5- to 10-second adjustment before returning control back to Isaac 0.
The data from such interactions is then fed into the training pipeline, thus creating a continuous improvement framework that allows Isaac 0 to improve its functions.
According to Weave Robotics, Isaac 0 costs $7,999 and is also available for a $450-per-month subscription plan for early adopters.
