A new ground-to-air counter-drone interceptor has been developed by a United Arab Emirates-based defense technology firm.
EDGE’s Allag-E electric ground-to-air counter-drone interceptor consists of a 900 mm long drone with a 700 mm wingspan. Additionally, the interceptor’s dual electric ducted fans cutting-disk warhead enables it to fly through the air and track down drone threats, such as reconnaissance drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Allag-E features an all-composite airframe with a cylindrical fuselage, delta wings and winglets that extend from either side of the wingtip. Meanwhile, electric ducted fans are symmetrically located above and below the tail, thus allowing for improved maneuverability and drone engagements.
With a maximum takeoff weight of about 18.7 lbs, the Allag-E is compact and maneuverable enough for low-altitude operations. Likewise, the interceptor is capable of flying at speeds exceeding 155 mph.
Allag-E can engage targets up to 9 miles away, flying at speeds of 124 miles and at altitudes reaching 9,900 feet. Importantly, the interceptor delivers a blast radius of more than 16 feet with 33-feet accuracy, its developers explained.
