Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. said it will launch the Galaxy Z TriFold, a triple foldable smartphone that can be unfolded twice for a 10-inch display.
Samsung said it designed the phone to help users increase productivity as well as enhance cinematic and gaming viewing. The multi-folding form factor uses an inward-folding design to protect the main display with an auto-alarm alerting the user if they are incorrectly folding the smartphone.
The Galaxy Z TriFold measures 3.9 mm at its thinnest point and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform. It includes a 200 MP camera, a 5,600 mAh three-cell battery system in each of the three panels and includes 45 W of super-fast charging.
The new display technology folds twice to become a pocketable phone with a reinforced overcoat that includes a shock-absorbing layer for better resistance across the dual-folding surface.
When smartphone opens, the screen functions as a normal smartphone but with the ability to create three different portrait sized apps side-by-side without interruption. Or the phone can be used as a larger cinematic viewing phones or for playing games.
The Galaxy Z TriFold will launch later this month in Korea first, followed by other markets like China, Taiwan, Singapore and the UAE. It will debut in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2026.
