Raspberry Pi is one of the more ubiquitous maker developer board brands. Keeping with the times, Raspberry Pi introduced an AI-centric board in 2024 with the goal of getting makers and engineers jumpstarted on new designs that feature artificial intelligence (AI).
The AI kit is a three-times increase in CPU performance over previous models with a 2.4 GHz quad-core Cortex-A76 processor from Broadcom. Additionally, it comes with a Hailo-8 AI accelerator that is integrated into Raspberry Pi’s camera software so that makers can get projects up and running quickly.
Raspberry Pi said the kit is for engineers or designers to develop AI-based DIY projects, programming or home automation.
The following is a partial deep dive into the developer kit conducted by TechInsights.
