Mouser offers Molex interconnect system for high-performance connectivity in advanced automotive systems

20 October 2025

Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now stocking the High-Speed FAKRA-Mini (HFM) interconnect system from Molex. The HFM interconnect system provides a compact, high-performance solution tailored to the demands of modern automotive architectures. The HFM interconnect system supports a range of advanced applications, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous driving systems, high-resolution (4K) displays, high-speed cable networks, infotainment systems, radar systems, rear-seat entertainment devices, sensor-to-device connections and telematic solutions.

The Molex HFM interconnect system is smaller than standard FAKRA connectors and handles higher speeds, delivering data rates up to 28 Gbps at frequencies up to 20 GHz. Compact and lightweight, the HFM interconnect system offers 80% space savings compared to traditional FAKRA connectors, allowing for more connections in a limited space. The HFM series also features an integrated secondary lock (ISL) and optional connector position assurance (CPA) to prevent accidental disconnection in applications subject to vibration. The sealed variants protect against water and fluid ingress to ensure durability, particularly in harsh conditions.

The HFM interconnect system supports future updates to vehicle architectures with single, dual, dual-stack and quad connectors for wire-to-wire, wire-to-module and wire-to-device solutions.
