Broadcom ships Jericho4 to scale AI across data centers

07 August 2025

To increase infrastructure requirements for artificial intelligence (AI) data centers, Broadcom Inc. is now shipping its Jericho4 Ethernet fabric router.

The platform is designed to interconnect more than one million XPUs across multiple data centers. Broadcom said a single Jericho4 system scales to 36,000 HyperPorts each operating at 3.2 Tb/s with deep buffering, line-rate MACsec and RoCE transport more than 100 kilometers distances.

Broadcom said this is needed due to infrastructure requirements exceeding the power and physical limits of a single data center as AI models grow in complexity.

The technology consolidates four 800 GE links into a single logical port that eliminates load balancing inefficiencies, boosts utilization by up to 70% and streamlines traffic flow across large fabrics.

Other features of the Jericho4 system include:

  • MACsec encryption support
  • Manufactured on 3nm process
  • 200G PAM4 SerDes
  • UEC compliant
  • Deep buffering
  • Intelligent congestion control
