Data logger developed for fleet testing and test drives under extreme conditions

27 September 2024

The new IPE853 data logger from IPETRONIK is the ideal solution for fleet testing under extreme conditions. Both complete vehicles and components are tested intensively during hot-land and cold-land test drives. Equipped with the powerful x6425RE processor, the IPE853 achieves a performance index of 2935 and is ideally equipped for measurement applications on all current automotive networks. Thanks to its robust and compact aluminum housing, the logger is extremely resistant, making it ideal for use in harsh conditions. The data logger also works reliably in a temperature range of -40° C to 80° C at a relative humidity of 5% to 95%. Thanks to protection class IP54, the IPE853 meets the requirements for automotive environmental conditions, both in the test vehicle and outside the vehicle.

Special features:

  • Powerful x6425RE processor
  • 3 x 1 GbE inputs
  • 16 x CAN FD SIC inputs, eight of which can be switched to LIN for each channel via software
  • Data storage of up to 1 TB and 16 GB internal RAM storage
  • Power consumption typ. 16 W
  • USB-C, 4G modem, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GNSS receiver

Thanks to its low power consumption of typ. 16 W, the IPE853 is ideal for hybrid (HV) and electric vehicle testing. In addition to the digital bus variables, the logger reliably records all physical variables such asSource: IPETRONIKSource: IPETRONIK voltages, currents and temperatures on HV auxiliary units and HV battery systems in combination with the IPETRONIK HV measurement modules. The IPE853 can be combined with the new M-THERMO3 16 temperature measurement modules from the M3 series for precise temperature measurement in the engine compartment, transmission, drivetrain and exhaust system.

Efficient data management with mobile app and cloud connection

The perfectly coordinated hardware and software system enables fast configuration, data acquisition and evaluation using the IPEmotion RT data logger software. The “plug & play” configuration is simple and intuitive and ensures fully automatic data acquisition during the test drive. With the mobile edition of the DAQ software IPEmotion ME, operating data can be conveniently visualized on tablets and smartphones. Extensive analysis and visualization functions as well as the direct cloud connection enable real-time data transfer to the IPEcloud for decentralized analysis and evaluation at the workplace.

Scalable complete system for varying measurement tasks

The scalable IPE853 data logger covers a wide range of measurement tasks in complete vehicle protection. With numerous measurement inputs for CAN, LIN and Ethernet, it can be used for all physical and digital bus sizes. This enables easy access to all bus networks and ECU protocols, both signal and traffic-based, combined with the acquisition of video and audio data. The channel-by-channel switching function from CAN to LIN offers maximum flexibility, saves set-up time and thus increases efficiency during every test. Thanks to connector compatibility with all IPElog2 and M-LOG variants, the IPE853 offers the optimum upgrade option for existing logger systems without the need for further cable extensions and adaptations.
