LinkSwitch-XT2SR maximizes light-load efficiency for small power supplies — Design examples available

19 January 2024

The LinkSwitch-XT2SR family of non-isolated flyback switcher ICs brings a new level of integration and efficiency to small open-frame power supplies up to 15 W. Incorporating a synchronous rectifier driver, these constant-voltage ICs reduce component count and achieve up to 90% efficiency.

LinkSwitch-XT2SR devices consume less than 5 mW in no-load, easily surpassing the newest requirements of the European Union’s Energy-Related Products (ErP) Directive. They deliver 250 mW to the load within the 300 mW ErP allowance, enabling more system functionality to operate in standby mode for smallSource: Power IntegrationsSource: Power Integrations appliances, home and building automation, as well as a range of industrial applications.

Three new design example reports demonstrate the exceptional performance and versatility of LinkSwitch-XT2SR ICs.

RDR-962 — 12 W non-isolated dual-output power supply

  • Input: 90 V AC to 265 V AC
  • Outputs: 5 V, 1.4 A and 12 V, 0.42 A
  • Greater than 87% efficiency at nominal AC input
  • Less than 5 mW no-load input power at 230 V AC
