Omnivision has introduced an 8-megapixel backside illumination image sensor designed for high dynamic range (HDR) and single exposure dual analog gain (DAG).

The 1.45-micron BSI pixel supports 4K/2K resolution and high frame rates for optical formats like home and professional security, internet of things and action cameras.

The OS0C10 captures real-time 4K video at 60 frames per second with selective conversion gain allowing the sensor to select low and high conversion gain, depending on lighting conditions. The sensor uses correlated multi-sampling (CMS) to further reduce readout noise and improve SNR1 and low-light performance.

Additionally, the on-chip defective pixel correction (DPC) improves quality and improves quality for real-time correction of defective pixels.

The image sensor is built on Omnivision’s PureCel Plus-S stacked-die technology for high-resolution 8MP at 300 mW.
