Nokia is rapidly rolling out its technology portfolio for the U.S. Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) program including the expansion of its network-in-a-box program to accelerate and simplify these broadband projects.
The pre-packaged solutions from Nokia are configurable for each individual network and BEAD participants are designed to bridge the digital divide in rural and hard-to-reach places. The program provides fiber-optic network electronics products and optical modules in a single solution.
The network-in-a-box will simplify the process of bringing high-speed broadband to these areas of digital divide. The program includes:
- IP routing
- Fiber OLT
- Fiber ONT
- Wi-Fi beacons
- Software
The network-in-a-box helps build small greenfield fiber networks or cap existing GPON networks and grow to XGS and 25G-PON.
"Programs like Nokia’s network-in-a-box can help to simplify and speed the process by providing network builders with the full set of technologies and services that they need to deploy a broadband network in one single solution,” said June Kunstler, chief analyst of broadband access intelligence at Omdia. “This can ultimately help reduce time, costs and complexities, leading to more successful network builds.”
