Semtech Corp. has launched a development board and reference design that incorporates Semtech’s LoRa sub-GHz radio transceiver designed for internet of things (IoT) devices.
Called the XCVR development board, the platform is designed to process and reduce time-to-market for vendors working in markets such as building management, agriculture, supply chain, logistics and industrial control.
The board includes software drivers that are used in long range (LoRa) end-product designs and is compatible with various microcontroller vendors such as Nordic Semiconductor. The software in the development board includes LoRa Point to Point and LoRaWAN reference firmware to enable rapid software development.
“LoRa continues to be seen as the de facto wireless platform for IoT,” said Robert Comanescu, senior director of the IoT Chips Business at Semtech. “Semtech's LoRa chipsets connect sensors to the cloud and enable real-time communication of data and analytics that can be utilized to enhance efficiency and productivity.”
Semtech said the dedicated support resources are available through Symmetry Electronics, Mouser Electronics and Connect Development.
