Murata Manufacturing Co. Ltd. is conducting live exhibitions of two sample-ready power products at this week’s Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) 2023 taking place this week in Orlando, Florida.
Called the PE25203 and PE24108, the power devices are used to improve the performance of a wide range of applications.
The PE25203 is a divide-by-3 or divide-by-2 switched-capacitor charge pump targeting laptop applications to convert a 3S/2S battery input to a 1S output for downstream power management integrated circuits (PMICs). The device provides dynamic switchover function, allowing the charge pump ratio to change during operation depending on input battery voltage.
The power device features:
- An operating temperature range of -40° C to 85° C.
- Fully protected with input under voltage, overcurrent protection and thermal shutdown fault detection.
- Based on virtually lossless charge pump technology.
- Interleaved architecture for low input and output ripple performance.
Meanwhile, the PE24108 is a 3.3 V two-stage buck regulator IC with integrated switching field-effect transistors (FETs) for low-profile less than 1.2 mm applications. The power train can be mounted to the underside of the PCB and in proximity to the DSP/ASIC core. This reduces the I2 R losses and noise pick-up.
The two-stage solution allows the use of low-profile chip inductors for use in applications such as optical transceiver modules, network interface cards and memory cards.
