Two open-source single board computers (SBCs) from BeagleBoard are now stocked at Newark, a division of Avnet.
The BeagleConnect Freedom and BeaglePlay SBCs are designed to help engineers, professionals and hobbyists simplify microcontroller code development and rapid prototyping without wiring.
The BeagleConnect Freedom is an open-source SBC built for rapid prototyping of IoT applications. Source: BeagleBoard BeaglePlay is an SBC that helps engineers add sensors, actuators, human interfaces and connectivity to embedded systems.
The board features:
- A 64-bit, quad-core processor
- HDMI Type-A supporting up to full-HD/1080P with 24-bit RGB
- Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, sub-GHz wireless and single-pair Ethernet with power-over-data-line
- Compatibility with thousands of off-the-shelf add-ons and a customized Debian
- Human-machine interface (HMI) designs
BeagleConnect Freedom is a development board built around the Texas Instruments TI CC1352P7 microcontroller and supports both 2.4 GHz and long range, low power sub 1 GHz wireless protocols.
Other features of the board include:
- Rapid prototyping for IoT applications
- Compatibility with more than 1,000 mikroBUS
- Backed with software support for Zephyr scalable and module real-time OS
- Includes temperature, humidity and light sensors
- SPI flash, battery charger, buzzer, LEDs and JTAG connections
- Rapid prototyping without wiring
