Avnet Silica to present smart cities for a sustainable future at Electronica 2022

Avnet Silica, an Avnet company, will showcase a range of smart city applications at the ‘Avnet City’ booth (Hall C2), Stand 101 at Electronica 2022 from November 15 through November 18 in Munich, Germany.

Smart city solutions are shaping the buildings and homes of the future to make our cities smarter, greener and more secure. A variety of use cases will be presented, including electric vehicle charging, air quality monitoring, waste control, smart grid and energy management, E-mobility, and vehicle and traffic analytics.Source: Avnet SilicaSource: Avnet Silica

Six virtual demo stations will showcase the technologies that are driving change and innovation in the cities of tomorrow, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, advanced analogue, industrial communications, power, and wireless communications, as well as specific solutions such as the internet of things (IoT), security, embedded, software and embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC).

Highlights include:

  • Condition-based maintenance system for monitoring health, uptime and interval to next service for machines and tools
  • Smart parking use-case utilizing real-time parking lot detection within a city`s open spaces
  • Asset tracking to locate goods, personnel or capital machinery enabling supply chain visibility at all times

Avnet Silica will also demonstrate one of the world’s first full Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC implementations on an industrial i.MX8 platform. This is replacing x86-based platforms, saving energy and cost with full x86 API32 application compatibility.

During the show, visitors are invited to discuss their design projects with Avnet Silica’s technology experts, who can also advise on software, services and solutions.
