Avnet Inc. has signed a new agreement with Nordic Semiconductor that extends its existing relationship to cover worldwide support for Nordic’s Bluetooth and other ultra-low power (ULP) wireless connectivity solutions.
Customers in Europe, Asia Pacific, the U.S., Canada and Latin America will now have access to a complete range of ULP wireless connectivity hardware, firmware, development tools and reference designs, including Bluetooth system-on-chips (SoCs) and entry-level Bluetooth 5 multi-protocol devices.
The agreement will allow Nordic to leverage Avnet’s global scale and technical experts to accelerate deployment of the range of ULP wireless solutions in the global internet of things (IoT) value chain.
Avnet has been expanding its support for IoT across the electronics industry, including rolling out a new kit for AT&T’s 4G LTE-M network, new Raspberry Pi development boards, new IoT service platforms and new projects for smart cities.
