At Pepcom, taking place as part of CES 2022, Noveto debuted its smart audio device that uses beaming technology to create immersive binaural audio sound without disturbing others or using headphones.
The smart audio beaming technology transmits ultrasound silently through the air, converging into audible pockets just outside the listener’s ears. This allows the user to hear the sound through “invisible headphones” while others only hear a whisper of sound.
The N1 device uses facial recognition through motion sensors and artificial intelligence technology to help it track the ears to ensure the 3D immersive sound travels to the right user.
Noveto said the device could be used in a workspace where busy people are stacked in cubes and a user does not want to use headphones nor to disturb their colleagues. It could also be used in a home where many people are using other devices and don’t want sound from another device. Other functions could include gaming, meditation, fitness and video calls.
The N1 includes Alexa voice recognition to communicate without having to utter a wake command such as “Hey Alexa.” A user looks at the N1 and the device recognizes the user through facial recognition and offers suggestions and services based on personal profiles or notifies a user of unread emails in an inbox.
“Imagine the efficiency and comfort of private conversations with no devices on the body — we’re returning to a form of delightful, intuitive communication that currently doesn’t exist in our everyday lives with our devices,” said Christophe Ramstein, CEO of Noveto.
