Quanergy Systems Inc.’s 3D lidar has been selected for an Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) system, a key component for enabling data driven internet of things (IoT) in the city of Busan, South Korea.
Busan is one of the pilot smart cities for the ICT initiative and the 3D lidar will be deployed with iCent. The solution will include the MQ-8 lidar from Quanergy and perception software Qortex DTC.
The IoT solution will collect and analyze traffic data including the walking direction of pedestrians, their traffic volume and number of speeding vehicles.
At the Busan smart city traffic center, the collected data will be used to understand traffic patterns, predict safety hazards and develop transportation policies to improve pedestrian safety.
Additionally, the solution will integrate with traffic lights to dynamically respond to traffic and give drivers and pedestrians visibility into real-time traffic information on a smartphone app.
