Kokoon has launched a Kickstarter campaign to generate funds for its sleep sensing headphones that intelligently monitor a user’s sleep patterns to help improve rest.
Called NightBuds, the headphones are 5.4 mm thick and automatically adapt audio as the wearer falls asleep, providing insights and coaching specific to the user's sleep patterns to improve sleep.
Anxiety, stress, increased screen time among consumers and now the COVID-19 pandemic are all factors in making a decent night of sleep unattainable.
As such, NightBuds were developed to help consumers escape stress, snoring, noisy neighbors and more, encouraging improved sleep and relaxation.
Kokoon said audio is one of the most effective ways to help the mind disconnect and wind down. NightBuds allow users to listen to their own audio — audiobooks, podcasts or music — that automatically fades out as they fall asleep, bookmarking where the user left off.
The sleep sensing headphones use Kokoon’s sleep coaching technology to monitor sleep — via accelerometer and photoplethysmogram sensors — to provide insights and recommendations to improve sleep.
The headphones also feature Bluetooth, allowing users to take phone calls and Kokoon has created an app that allows users to create a 4D binaural soundstage that listeners can use to experience relaxing audio. Kokoon expects to deliver the headphones in the second quarter of 2021.
Kokoon has started a Kickstarter campaign to generate funding to manufacture the headphones as well as generate interest. While the campaign has already met its goal, those interested in the headphones can go to Kokoon’s Kickstarter page for more information.
