Chesterton Connect. Source: ChestertonSealing solutions company Chesterton has developed a new data acquisition tool for monitoring the health and operation of pumps, agitators, mixers and other rotating equipment.
The Chesterton Connect is a data acquisition tool designed to withstand harsh environments to monitor equipment for process temperature, equipment vibration, surface temperature and process pressure, among other factors.
An accompanying app enables users to view an assortment of sensors that offer insight into the health of a facility’s equipment. Users can assign thresholds that when triggered, the mobile app and built-in LED display system of the device will notify users of an issue with the equipment. The system will reportedly avoid unplanned downtime and asset failure by allocating resources to equipment meeting predetermined thresholds.
Additionally, the system will export and analyze data to help users understand equipment operation and to take precautions that will extend the productivity and life of the equipment.
Steve Bullen, product director of the Chesterton Mechanical Seals product line, said: "Chesterton Connect automatically stays on top of equipment changes that pose a problem. It gives pump operators time to make the necessary adjustments, helping to avoid costly unplanned downtime."
