Wicked Engineering launches CUREbox® Plus: High quality UV post-cure oven

13 January 2020

Those who demand the most from their 3D-printed parts understand the importance of post-curing. Properly cured 3D-printed parts have mechanical properties far superior to those that are improperly cured. Proper post-curing requires precision equipment with a specific wavelength and intensity light source, time control and temperature control. The CUREbox and CUREbox Plus from Wicked Engineering provide all of this for use by the 3D printing community.

What does post-curing do?

Post-curing takes the 3D-printed parts and finishes the curing process. Post-curing of 3D-printed SLA parts is extremely important as it provides significantly higher tensile strength and flexural modulus to printed parts. In the dental industry, post-curing is a requirement of many of the resins used for 3D printing. The post-curing process bombards the part with UV and visible light at the wavelength(s) that the photosensitive resin reacts to.

What’s new in the CUREbox Plus?

With all the great features of the standard CUREbox, the CUREbox Plus has several unique features. For the dental industry, we’ve included dental one-touch presets making it even easier to use and more efficient. The CUREBox Plus has a large temperature range (30-80° C) and the ability for fast heating. Just like the CUREbox, the Plus has a large capacity chamber at 12 in x 12 in x 6.25 in, sufficient for most dental and jewelry parts. Both versions are also clean-room friendly.

Do the CUREbox and CUREbox Plus work with all resins?

Both versions of the CUREbox support virtually all of the photosensitive resins on the market such as those made by Formlabs, B9 Creations, NextDent and SprintRay. CUREbox can be used with other resins and Wicked Engineering can work with customers to develop custom recipes.
