Boston Dynamics has been developing its robotic dogs for the past few years, with the most famous being Spot, the robotic dog that can open doors.
Later it created a smaller version of the Spot called Spot Mini, which is more agile than the original design. The robotics company is showing how a pack of Spot Mini robotic dogs can be used in a real-world situation such as when a vehicle breaks down. Companies are experimenting with how robots can do tasks that otherwise would be done by a human, such as on an assembly line, in a hospital, delivering packages or picking up garbage.
In the video, 10 robotic dogs are tied together to haul a truck in a parking lot, almost like they are pulling a sleigh. Will a robotic sleigh race be next? Maybe. But, based on the video, it seems that robots that can tow cars are closer to reality.
