The S3030 LED. Source: Osram OptoOsram Opto Semiconductors has entered the mid-power light emitting diode (LED) market targeted at the general lighting segment.
The S3030 LEDs can be used for both outdoor and industrial lighting, operating in extreme conditions with flexibility in forward voltage and luminous flux and lasting for 75,000 hours.
The LED features optimized phosphor, lead frame and chip design for an improved efficiency of 146 lm/W. The devices are available in two versions with a power rating of 1.0 W at 6 V and a luminous flux of 138 to 148 lumens. The beam angle of 120 degrees and low thermal resistance of about 8.9 K/W make the LEDs applicable for outdoor lighting and industrial grade applications, Osram said.
