Israeli long-range wireless power technology vendor Wi-Charge was chosen as a CES 2019 Innovation Award recipient for its wireless power kit that can transform an Amazon Echo Dot or Google Home Mini into a wire-free device.

Once attached to Wi-Charge’s Wireless Power Kit, the Echo Dot or Google Home Mini can be used without cables or proximity to a power outlet. The kit does not change the device itself, but offers more placement options, Wi-Charge said. The smart speaker can be put on a table, hung on a wall or work anywhere.

This is the second year in a row that Wi-Charge has been selected for a CES Innovation Award. The annual program recognizes product designs across multiple product categories based on design, functionality, consumer appeal, engineering and how the products compare with competition. The wireless power kit was chosen as part of the home audio/video product category.

Wi-Charge has also started an OEM program with the goal of getting more companies to adopt the wireless power technology for products such as smart home speakers, home security devices, phone charging solutions and other devices that might be constrained by battery power or power cords.
