LG Electronics will introduce a new wearable robot exoskeleton to support and enhance worker mobility and lower-limb strength in warehouses, factories and other industrial segments.
The CLOi SuitBot exoskeleton, which will be shown at the upcoming IFA show, was born out of LG’s investment with startup SG Robotics, a maker of wearable robots. The exoskeleton fits around the rotating joints to provide a more relaxed and natural way to enhance the lower body while walking, standing or working. The SuitBot features sandal-type shoes and automatically adjusts to the wearer to allow workers to get in and out of the suit more easily, LG said.
The exoskeleton can connect to other LG service robots to create a working network for delivering information and tools at work sites such as manufacturing, logistics and distribution.
The Suitbot is part of LG’s larger artificial intelligence (AI) initiative for the commercial sector. The AI technology in the SuitBot can learn and evolve through the recognition and analysis of biometrics and environment data, measuring and analyzing movements to suggest optimal movement and stances for the best efficiency, LG said.
LG will debut the exoskeleton at the upcoming IFA trade show in Berlin.
