Teardown: GE Smart LED Light Bulb (Link A19)

The following is an overview of a teardown analysis conducted by IHS Benchmarking.

GE Link light bulbs connect via a hub to the Wink app on a mobile device, allowing them to be controlled from anywhere. They can be remotely operated as individual lights or groups, synced with other smart products and used to automate lighting according to a user-defined schedule. According to GE, the energy-efficient bulbs will last over 22 years (based on three hours per day of usage), while using 80 percent less power than traditional bulbs.
