Microsemi Corp.’s latest series of PCIe switches that support extended industrial temperatures for the automation, defense, health care and industrial computing markets are now available.
The Switchtec PFX-I Gen3 switches are designed to operate in harsher environments ranging from negative 40 degrees Celsius to 105 degrees Celsius. The family has recently passed thermal cycle testing, interval testing at extreme temperatures and vigorous temperature humidity testing of several hundred hours allowing the devices to be available to customers.
The devices support up to 48 ports, 48 non-transparent bridges (NTBs), 24 virtual switches, advanced error handling, hot- and surprise-plug controllers, dynamic port bifurcation and dynamic partitioning.
Microsemi says the switches are suitable to work in applications such as medical imaging, instrumentation, security and radars.
