Premier Farnell, a division of Avnet Inc., has extended its product offerings of Nordic Semiconductor allowing Newark Element14 customers with access to Nordic’s range of wireless devices.
Nordic offers a range of ultra-low power (ULP) wireless chips that can run for a long time from small power sources. With Newark Element14 catering to startups, makers and tinkerers this is an especially good thing considering many of the designs will be powered from small sources.
Through the partnership, Nordic’s range of nRF51 and nRF52 series multiprotocol system-on-chips (SoCs), RF protocol stacks and development tools are now available for building wireless devices from toys to disposal medical products to low-cost wearables to virtual reality/augmented reality devices, to other internet of things (IoT) devices.
