Here’s an interesting offering for APEC 2018 attendees from Wurth Electronics: a virtual reality experience for circuit board building and testing.
“The HUB” is Wurth’s name for the experience, in which attendees can choose to build a board with the help of an IC chip from Linear Technology, STMicroelectronics or Texas Instruments. Next, they can use Wurth’s IC Reference Design search to pick an inductor, and then view performance stats with the company’s REDEXPERT tool. For those who’d prefer a real-life demonstration rather than a VR one, that’s available too.
Wurth is clearly focused on providing conference attendees a helping of fun: additional offerings include beer and gummy bears on Monday evening at their booth; a photo booth for “silly selfies”; and a party Tuesday evening (invitations available at Booth #401). Even their seminars, to be presented on Saturday, sound fun — with names like "Everything You Wanted to Know About Capacitors But Were Too Afraid to Ask," how can you go wrong?
