NPI Leader to Stock Dell Edge Gateways for IoT Networks
Mouser Electronics, Inc. has signed a distribution agreement with Dell OEM Solutions, which combines Dell’s portfolio, a rich partner ecosystem, deep vertical and domain expertise and a collaborative approach to provide end-to-end Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.
Dell’s IoT product line available from Mouser Electronics features the company’s first purpose-built industrial PC products, the Dell Edge Gateway 5000 Series. The 5000 Series is designed to aggregate, secure and relay data from diverse sensors and equipment. The Intel® Atom™ processor provides the capacity to perform local analytics, so only meaningful information is sent to the next tier, which could be another gateway—the datacenter or the cloud. This minimizes consumption of expensive network bandwidth and reduces overall solution latency.
Unlike PCs and servers, the Dell Edge Gateway 5000 Series can attach to a wall or DIN rail in commercial and industrial environments. Engineered with an industrial-grade form factor and fanless, solid-state design, the gateways can reliably run 24/7 with long life at extended temperatures, in addition to withstanding the higher levels of humidity and dust typical of industrial environments.
Engineers can connect broadly with the physical world using gateways, bridging both legacy systems and modern sensors to the internet. With the right physical I/O and Dell’s certified ISV middleware, engineers can aggregate and normalize virtually any data source, ranging from industry-standard protocols such as BACNet, Modbus and CANbus, to modern wireless mesh networks like ZigBee and 6LoWPAN.

In addition to the Dell Edge Gateway 5000 Series, Mouser is also stocking power and communications accessories from Dell, including power adapters, mounts, and WWAN and WLAN antennas.
